Now we are coming to the end of the Dressember challenge, I thought I would update you on my last dress of the day posts, as well as give you an insight into how I managed with this dress-wearing challenge!

Dressember Days 26-31 Outfit of the Day

Due to some technical issues on December 26th and 27th I was unable to post my daily outfit updates, so I thought I would compile my last few outfits into one post. Here are the dress looks I worn for Dressember days 26 – 31.

How Did I Prepare and Would I Take Part in Dressember Again?

I would definitely take part in this challenge again. Initially, I thought that it might be difficult what with the weather at this time of year and the fact that I own very few winter dresses. But after some careful planning and strategic layering, all was well!
I went through my wardrobe and pulled out all of the dresses that I own. This was about 3 days before challenge started. It suddenly occurred to me that most of the dresses I own are summer dresses – very light and cool. Just looking at my dresses, wondering how I was going to make it through 31 days wearing summer dresses made me feel cold! I’m also in the middle of a ‘1-year no clothes shopping challenge’ so I had to just use what I had. I realised I had enough dresses to see me through the month but I didn’t know how I was going to make them wearable for winter. So next I got out all of my winter jumpers and cardigans, as well as leggings, tights and patterned jeans that could be worn underneath. I began to pair up different winter sweaters with a compatible summer dress, folded them together and stacked them at the bottom of my wardrobe for me to simply take out and wear each day.

What is Dressember?

Everyday throughout the month of December, participants are required to wear a dress instead of trousers, jeans, leggings, etc. Among some minorities, dresses represent weakness and inequality, which is why participants of the campaign will be wearing them across the entire 31-day project. We are wearing dresses to raise awareness and collect donations to end modern day slavery and human trafficking. Donations raised help fund life-saving work through the International Justice Mission and A21, who are partnering with the Dressember team for this cause.

How Can I Get Involved in Dressember 2017?

You can become an advocate and get involved by wearing a dress every day of this month. You can support Online Personal Stylist and donate here. You can also share this post and my campaign page to help raise awareness for this campaign. And, as I’m providing daily styling tips this month through my daily dress outfit posts, you can also take these points on board by learning how to revamp items in your wardrobe that you already own. Despite being a professional fashion stylist, I’m a serious advocate for sustainable and cruelty-free fashion, which is one of the reasons this campaign really appealed to me. All this month I will be showing you how you can wear almost any item from your wardrobe at any time of the year. As you will see throughout this project, many of the dresses I plan to wear are actually from my summer wardrobe! With the help of some clever styling tricks, a dose of creativity, and strategic layering tactics, it is possible to transfer many of your garments between contrasting seasons!
