13 Stylish Alternatives to Jeans

Looking for stylish alternatives to jeans? The problem with jeans is that some of us practically live in them. Others are considered jean-phobics and spend years trying to find a half decent pair. If you fancy a change, here are my top tips on stylish ideas for trousers that are great alternatives to jeans.

From the moment in which you're set loose into the world of shopping, you quickly learn that shopping for jeans can be a total nightmare. Over the years, the questions has been posed many a time as to whether the perfect pair of jeans really exists. Personally, I've always been lucky when finding jeans. Apart from one terrible shopping trip many years ago, when I tried on over 15 pairs of jeans before finally coming away with something mediocre, I've always felt most comfortable in denim jeans.

The only issue here is that my style can get a bit repetitive. Among my collection of jeans are a couple of pairs in the exact same style. Several years ago when at the mall, I picked up a pair of gorgeous indigo denim, straight-leg jeans. I fell in love with them instantly and they fit like a dream! I loved them so much that I went back and bought a couple of extra pairs so they'd last me! So naturally, you can imagine how it's possible for me to appear as though I'm always wearing the same look.

In recent years, I've tried to switch my plain denim for other types of trousers. Trousers don't have to be overly formal or uncomfortable to wear. There's an excellent choice of stylish, modern trousers with a youthful twist available. Plus, trousers come in a variety of textures, colours and fits. Initially, I experimented by incorporating coloured jeans into my wardrobe. This is great for those who adore denim and find it comfortable to wear. A lot of stores offer the same styles in multiple colour options as part of their denim ranges. This makes it easier for you when shopping for coloured jeans. If you're already familiar with a particular line of denim, you can simply pick up a pair of jeans in black, white, indigo, stone, red, mustard in your size and you're good to go!

Now that I am more comfortable with wearing coloured trousers and I understand how I like to style them to suit my personal tastes. I feel more confident with trying new trouser styles. For a long time, the issue for me was that jeans provided a more tailored fit, whereas trousers and loungewear always came too loose and looked ill-fitting. Thankfully, that has all changed now and it's easier than ever to pinpoint the exact style you're looking for. Strictly speaking, there really aren't many fashion styles that I haven't experimented with or would be unwilling to try. However, for me, there's a big difference between looks I'd wear and items I am certain I will wear on a regular basis. In order for new clothing to enter my wardrobe, I like to be sure that I will wear it at least 30 times.
Not everyone will like or suit the same styles of trousers. I prefer to opt for straight-leg styles because on my body shape they are most flattering. I like to choose trouser styles that, like jeans, can be worn with everything. Those versatile pieces that be dressed up for a glamorous even or dressed down to embrace casual attire. My aim is to find garments that can be worn with both trainers or heels because this way I know they will become well loved items!
